The Distance Instructor certificate programme, jointly organised by the Ondokuz Mayıs University Distance Education Centre (OMU UZEM) and OMU's Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (BÖTE), produced its first graduates. The programme aims to help OMU academics develop instructional design skills through distance education.

Speaking at the event, Rector Prof. Yavuz Ünal said, “What matters is that the distance education platform is not static, but dynamic,” and discussed the use of distance education for theoretical courses at OMU.

The meeting stressed the importance of this training for academics directly involved in distance education and its potential contribution to developing their skills. Participants shared their experiences and thoughts on the training, and conveyed their views and requests about its outcomes to Rector Prof. Yavuz Ünal and the academics coordinating the programme.

At the end of the programme, Rector Prof. Yavuz Ünal presented certificates to Prof. Yüksel Ardalı and Assistant Professors Hasan Atsız, Kemal Özcan, Belkıs Tekgüler, Mehmet Ali Zengin and Zeynep Özcan.
