Established in 2009, Ondokuz Mayıs University Distance Education Application and Research Centre (OMÜ UZEM) aims to create an efficient and effective learning environment using modern information and communication technologies. Through programmes designed to meet today's needs, it supports individuals in developing their professional skills.

OMÜ UZEM adopts a student-centred educational approach, continually redesigning the learning process in response to stakeholder feedback. It also conducts scientific and technological research to support relevant academic and administrative units and works to strengthen cooperation between universities internationally.
