The theoretical part of the “XI. Experimental Animal Use Certificate Training Program” organized by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Animal Experiments Local Ethics Committee (HADYEK), prepared by the Experimental Animals Application and Research Center (DEHAM) and Distance Education Center (UZEM) and organized by the Continuing Education Center (OMÜSEM) was completed asynchronously by distance education.
In the trainings where theoretical (40-hour) trainings were served through the UZEM Education Portal, the UZEM Content Team worked very intensively in the preparation of both video (studio) materials and course documents. After an intensive working adventure, the theoretical part of the “XI. Experimental Animal Use Certificate Training Program” was successfully completed.
In the program, lectures were given on 24 topics such as “Animal Experimentation Legislation”, “Animal Experimentation Ethics and 3Rs”, “Comparative Anatomy of Experimental Animals”, “Occupational Health and Safety in Animal Facilities/Units”, “Physiology of Experimental Animals”, “Biochemistry of Experimental Animals”. The courses, which were created with the contributions of more than 10 lecturers, were completely designed interactively with distance education technology.
