“I would Like to See More Ugandans in My Country and at My University”

Ondokuz Mayıs University Lecturer Tolga Arslan participated in DBS BUSINESS Youtube channel as a speaker.

“Our University is at the Heart of the Black Sea”

Speaking to DBS BUSINESS Youtube channel, Arslan said: “Our university is located in the city of Samsun and on the shores of the Black Sea. We can even call Samsun the capital of the Black Sea. The distinguishing feature of our university is this: We try to offer advanced education opportunities to students at the most reasonable fees.”

OMU YÖS and OMU Foreign Students

Arslan also gave information about Ondokuz Mayıs University and OMU YÖS exam. Speaking about the city of Samsun and the University, Arslan gave detailed information about the university’s education and training principles, the number of foreign students, student quotas, dining hall, library, accommodation facilities, tuition fees and scholarships. Stating that ‘all the material facilities provided by the university to foreign students are at a higher level than many universities’, Arslan pointed out that ‘OMU YÖS exam addresses a very large geography with its increasing graph and this is growing day by day, and the university is in a very serious position in Turkey in terms of the number of foreign students’. Arslan continued his words as follows: “We rank 5th in Turkey in terms of the number of international students. We have 19 faculties, 12 vocational schools and 24 research centers. We are very well known in the country with our Faculty of Medicine. In fact, we are among the top 10 medical faculties in Turkey.”

In the following stages of the program, Arslan gave information about OMU YÖS application and preference system: “With OMU YÖS exam, you can find a place in 19 universities. You have the chance to be included in 19 universities with a single exam. No university, including European universities, offers such a choice.” Arslan concluded his words as follows: “We are waiting for you to come here and become our students. I would like to see more Ugandans in my country and in my university.”
